Hey guys! I've been playing Axis Football for awhile now and I've realized just how much potential the game has and has already shown shades of thus far. From the first Axis Football to the most recent one, the game is a fantastic one that has all the right bits and pieces to be one of the best Indie games Steam could produce. With it's modding capability, active and understanding Admin who listen to the people and an inspired/motivated game creator/owner responsible for the game as a whole? This game could be pushed to the stars and beyond. With that in mind, if the graphics, time, effort and space is enough to include some features not yet seen in the Axis Football series, I have a few ideas in mind that could jazz things up! Already the Features list for Axis Football '16 looks flawless. Fantastic additions that will truly take the series to new heights. So this list is really some things they haven't added yet, or maybe can in the future!
These are just a few I had in mind that popped up off the top of my head. There wasn't much else I could add because the Developers were wonderful in deciding how to advance the game further from '15 to '16 and all the upcoming features were already great enough! I know these may be a stretch, but I figured contributing some ideas wouldn't hurt.
- Superstar Mode:
Essentially echoing the Madden series, you control a Rookie player whose stats are bare minimum (unless you can adjust them per-draft pick [IE: Top Draft Prospect, Undrafted, etc]), and you build your stats up as you play through the games. Interceptions and fumbles count against you and lose points while Touchdowns, Passing/Rushing Yards, etc. work in your favor. Thus making every play count and coaxing you to be more strategic and pay attention more in order to make your passes crisp and get your head in the game a little more focused. Maybe an inclusion of Interviews, Agents, etc. - Mini Camp: The concept mainly focused on helping player skills develop in-between games. The Mini Camp would serve as a development camp that features many drills for players. ([QB] Pocket Presence, [LB] Chase & Tackle, [DB] Swat Ball, [DL] Trench Fight, [K] Clutch Kicking,
Coffin Corner Punt, etc). Obviously being graded on your performance from Bronze to Gold and based upon that, that decided how many Skill Points/Attributes you could apply to your character.
- Mascots:
The addition of Cheerleaders in the game is going to be a wonderful addition. Always great to feel the crowd behind you and see some beautiful ladies shouting out your name/team name and cheering whenever you score points. However, why not add team mascots as well! They could be seen as a stationary character on the sidelines/behind the touchdown area and have limited animations in accordance to scoring/loss of yards/interceptions, etc. They wouldn't always be animated and could have a basic standing animation when not reacting to things. If it would take up too much time, then they could simply be used as "leading the charge" by being the first out on the field when the teams emerge from the tunnels and then just be set to the side from that point forth. Great for NCAA edits. - GM Mode: The essential role of taking complete control of a team in all aspects. Handling draft picks. Being the one who accepts or declines trade deals/ideas. Having a say in uniform colors and designs. Possibly having the capability to change cities/states to relocate. Adjust/critique/ create your own style of stadium including turf color, logos, etc. Watching games from the sidelines as opposed to Coach Mode where you call the plays and watch. The main challenge of GM Mode being financial aspects in the means of keeping track of player contracts, costs of stadiums, revenue, etc while making sure that your team/organization doesn't go bankrupt. So on and so forth.
- Camera Angles:
As per any football game such as NCAA or Madden, they have multiple camera angles that you could choose to make your gaming experience more user friendly. The options possible being Coordinator, Zoomed, Wide, Broadcast and the default Axis Football camera angle. Another camera angle feature for the Defense being a version of Zoom-Broadcast.
These are just a few I had in mind that popped up off the top of my head. There wasn't much else I could add because the Developers were wonderful in deciding how to advance the game further from '15 to '16 and all the upcoming features were already great enough!
